First a little background story of HTML.
What is HTML?
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, it is used to create websites with that sort of programming language.
The first Version of HTML came ut in 1989 and it was the first public version of HTML called HTML1.0.
The Second version of HTML was created in 1995 and was updated in previous version of HTML1.0 the developers of HTML Added an interactive elements to include Web forms.
HTML Version 3.0 was released in 1996 and was proposed replacement for HTML2.0 that was never widely adopted.
HTML Version3.2 was released in 1997 it included additional support for Web tables and expanded the options for interactive form elements and a scripting language.
HTML4.01 was released in 1999 and added the support for style sheets to give Web designer greater control over page layout and appearance, and provided support for multimedia elements such as audio and video. Current browsers support almost all of HTML4.01.
HTML5.0 is now in development and update to HTML4.01 that provides support for a variety of new features including semantic page elements, column layout form validation, offline storage, and enhance multimedia.
HTML Syntax Rules.
HTML uses a very loose syntax, there are still a few things about which you need to be aware.
- HTML is case-insensitive.
- HTML is whitespace-insesitive.
Within tags, the element must immediately follow the opening angle bracket. After that, however, you can put as much space as you wish, including carriage returns, when using attributes, you can enclose the value of the attribute in single or double quotation marks. Some attribute values need not have quotation marks at all.
What tool to use for Coding the HTML?
I personally use Notepad++
You can download Notepad++ by clicking this .
Notepad++ is a free (as in “free speech” and also as in “free beer”) source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages. Running in the MS Windows environment, its use is governed by GPL License.
Based on the powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.
Starting to code.
- Purpose: A simple web page.
First of all we need to create the document type and the type will be alwasy HTML.
And you alwasy need to Save As docuemnt as a HTML format document.
the” <html> “is a start of a code for the HTML coding to recodnise that the html will start to read the code that you wrote from the and then until the end of the code.
What does” <body>” do?The” <body> “element contains the entire content of a webpage. It must be the second element inside of the parent” <html> “element, following only the <head> element.
“<h1> and </h1>?”
What dose “<h1>” do? The” <h1> “is a start of a heading for the text you are going to enter in your HTML program. It is the same thing for the Word document when you are writing your document you are writing the heading writing, but in html you need to put the start of the deading and its always begins in “<h1>”.
What dose “</h1>” Heading do? It is simply then end of the heading where we need to tell the program where to stop the heading that we finished writing thext and we need to close it to not interfair with another lines of code.
“<p> and </p>”
It is the same thing like in” <h1>” and “</h1>” only thing what we are now using in paragraph “<p>” stands for paragraph the beginning of paragpraph phase and the finish the paragrap we need to close it using the “</p>” command.
After we are done writing our headings and paragraphs we should always close the body of the program and the html as well using these two commands above.
Your result should look like this:
You can run your first HTML code by going RUN in NotePad++ program and choose which program you want to use to run this HTML code.
6 Different types of Headings.
There are 6 Headings to code in html.
Definition and Usage
The “<h1>” to” <h6> “tags are used to define HTML headings.
“<h1>” defines the most important heading.” <h6> “defines the least important heading.
To code the Different types of headings we have to use this code:
Your result should look like this:
The HTML <p> element defines a paragraph:
Result should be:
